Software Testing Contest in Brazil
The first IEEE contest on software testing in South America was organized in Brazil on September 17 at the University of Sao Paulo at Sao Carlos. It was technically sponsored by the IEEE Reliability Society and in collaboration with the 2018 Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSOFT) and Mooctest, Inc. First place received a cash prize of $300 USD, followed by $200 USD for 2nd. The 3rd to the 7th places each received $100 USD. Professor W. Eric Wong, Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Reliability, and 2 engineers from Mooctest (Mr. Yuan Zhao and Mr. Hao-Yu Li) attended the event to facilitate the contest. We would also like to give special thanks to Professor Auri Vincenzi and his students for all their support.
This contest is part of the ongoing effort to establish a family of IEEE International Contests on Software Testing, including those in China at regional, provincial, and national levels [1], in Europe (e.g., at QRS 2017 in Prague, Czech Republic [2] and QRS 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal [3]), and in the US (e.g., at the University of Texas at Dallas in January 2018 [4][5] and again in upcoming February 2019).
